👩‍🏫 About Me

Expert Math Tutor | Personal Attention | Lasting Confidence 🌟

👋 Hello! I'm Vandana, your partner in math success.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen math not just as numbers, but as a fascinating puzzle waiting to be solved. My goal as an educator has always been to share that sense of discovery and empowerment with my students.

I pursued this passion by earning a Master’s degree in mathematics and have spent over seven years helping students thrive at respected learning centers, including Mathnasium and JEI. During that time, I saw a recurring pattern: bright, capable students were getting lost in large classes. Their individual questions went unanswered, their unique learning styles weren't addressed, and their confidence would slowly fade.

That’s why I decided to do things differently.

I created this program to provide what I know works best: a small, supportive group setting where every child is seen and heard. By keeping my classes to just 4-5 students, I can offer the personalized attention needed to build a rock-solid foundation in math. We have the time to explore questions, celebrate small victories, and turn "I don't get it" into "Aha, I see!" 🎯

Here in our community, my commitment is to help your child not only improve their grades but also to develop a positive, resilient relationship with learning. Together, we can make math a source of confidence, not anxiety.

✍️ How My Classes Work

Online class

All lessons are conducted on Microsoft Teams, making it easy and secure for students to join.

Microsoft Teams is the app we use to meet online for class, just like a virtual classroom

Teaching Made Clear with IPEVO

I use an IPEVO Ultra HD Document Camera in every class. This tool lets me write and solve problems on paper while students watch live—just like in a real classroom.

Students watch math problems solved step-by-step in real time, with every equation and diagram shown clearly so they can follow along, ask questions, and practice together.

Small classes

I keep my classes small—only 4–5 students at a time—so every child gets the attention they deserve. In this setting, students feel comfortable asking questions, stay engaged, and build confidence as they truly understand math instead of being overlooked in a large class. 👩‍🏫

Building Confidence

My classes are focused on middle school students in Grades 5–8—a stage where math can feel challenging and confidence often drops. With clear explanations and personal support, I help students strengthen their fundamentals, stay on track in school, and build lasting confidence in math. 🎯

🧩 Teaching Strategy

⚖️ A Balanced Approach to Math Success 🎯

Every student has different needs. My classes combine school assignments, practice with IXL, and targeted MCA preparation so your child feels confident both in class and on tests.

3 Pillars

📘 IXL Foundation → IXL gives step-by-step practice. I use it to spot gaps, strengthen weak areas, and build skills steadily. This ensures skills are built layer by layer instead of rushed.

📝 Class Assignments First → Homework and school assignments are a top priority in every class. We go through them carefully so students stay on track with schoolwork, avoid falling behind, and feel prepared to participate confidently in their classrooms.

🎯 MCA Prep → MCA can be stressful. I integrate MCA-style practice into regular lessons, teaching both problem-solving techniques and time management skills so students walk into tests feeling ready and calm.

This mix builds strong fundamentals and helps students gain the confidence they need to excel.

🤝 Why Parents Choose Me

Parents choose more than a tutor—they choose trust, care, and results.

💬 A Personal Onboarding Process

I want you to feel confident right from the start.

  • Free Consultation Call—I begin with a short 15–20 minute video call with you and your child to understand their needs, learning style, and challenges.

  • Diagnostic Assessment—Next, I give a short, friendly assessment to see where your child is strong and where they need extra support.

  • Personalized Learning Plan—Then, I create a simple one-page plan with goals and milestones, so you’ll always know what we’re working toward.

📩 Transparent Communication

You’ll never be left wondering how your child is doing.

  • Post-Session Summaries – After every class, I send you a quick update highlighting what we covered, your child’s wins, and where we’ll focus next.

  • Monthly Progress Reports—At the end of each month, I share a clear report that maps your child’s progress against the initial assessment and learning plan, showing real improvements you can see.

👉 This way, you’ll always feel connected, informed, and confident that your child is making real progress.

✨ Features Students Love

Every student deserves to experience the joy of saying, ‘I get it now!

🖊️ Interactive Sessions

Math comes alive when it’s hands-on. I use a digital whiteboard where both they and I can solve problems together. We also explore tools like Desmos for graphing, GeoGebra for geometry, and virtual manipulatives to make tricky concepts clear and visual.

🎮 Gamification & Fun

Learning is more fun when it feels like a challenge, not a chore.

  • I start sessions with a “Problem of the Day”—a puzzle or real-world scenario to spark curiosity.

  • They can earn points for effort, creative thinking, and persistence. Points lead to small rewards, like choosing the warm-up game next time.

  • I connect math to their interests—whether it’s gaming, sports, or baking—so it feels relevant and exciting.

💪 Confidence Builders

The goal isn’t just getting the right answer—it’s feeling proud of how they got there.

  • I encourage “You Teach Us” moments where you explain a concept back to class, proving to them that they have mastered it.

  • Mistakes are part of learning, so I celebrate strategies and effort, not just answers.

  • I also give them choices during lessons, letting them pick between different types of problems so they feel ownership of their learning.

👉 These strategies make math less intimidating, more engaging, and confidence-boosting—so students actually look forward to class.

I was really worried about my son's transition to high school algebra. After just a few summer sessions, the change is incredible. The way complex topics are broken down makes them so much easier to understand, and the small group setting allows him to ask questions without feeling intimidated. He's starting 9th grade feeling genuinely prepared and confident. What a relief for our entire family!

🤔 FAQ
Why do you use a small group format instead of one-on-one?

Our small group “Math Pods” offer the best of both worlds! Your child gets personalized attention in a setting that’s more affordable than private tutoring. They also benefit from collaborative learning—hearing other students’ questions often sparks new understanding, and explaining a concept to a peer is one of the best ways to master it. It builds both skills and confidence.

My child is shy or anxious about math. Will a group setting work for them?

Absolutely. Our groups are capped at 5 students to create a safe and supportive environment where every child feels comfortable participating. I specialize in building confidence and make it a priority to ensure every student’s voice is heard. The free trial class is a great way to see how comfortable your child feels with the format.

How do you handle students who are at slightly different levels within the same group?

Groups are carefully formed based on both grade level and current math proficiency, which we assess during the trial class. While the core lesson is taught to the group, the 30-minute flex period and individual work time allow me to provide tailored support and challenge problems to each student based on their specific needs.

How do you keep students engaged online for 90 minutes?

Our sessions are dynamic and interactive, not a lecture! We use a digital whiteboard where all students can write and solve problems together. We incorporate engaging tools like Desmos for graphing and play review games. The session is also structured to move between different activities, which keeps the energy up and students focused.

Can you help my child with their specific homework from school?

Definitely. The 30-minute flex period at the end of each session is the perfect time for students to bring their homework questions. Our goal is to directly support what they are doing in the classroom, turning homework from a point of frustration into a moment of mastery.

What happens after the free trial class?

After the trial, I will follow up with you via email to share my observations and answer any questions you have. There is absolutely no pressure or obligation to enroll. If you decide it’s a great fit, I’ll send you a simple link to sign up for the monthly plan.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No. Our service is a simple, recurring monthly subscription. You can cancel your plan at any time with 14 days’ notice before your next billing date.
